Small and easy to care for, the “CPO” which stands for Cambarellus patzcuarensis “Orange”, is the Mexican Dwarf Crayfish that’s all the rage these days. The CPO offered here are aquacultured in Florida. General recommendations are to house them with small, fast moving fishes. While generally suggested as very safe tankmates and noted as scavengers, I’ve noticed on more than one occasion a CPO in having managed to capture a small live fish, so some caution should be exercised with tankmates. CPO’s offered for sale are roughly 1″ in length. Learn more about the CPO in this article from AMAZONAS Magazine by Rachel O’Leary of Invertebrates by Msjinkzd.
