Taxiphyllum barbieri “Java Moss”

Java Fern, Taxiphyllum barbieri, is like the one freshwater plant that literally anyone should be able to grow! Low light, extremely forgiving and accepting of a wide range of conditions, I simply let it grow free floating in some of my tanks. If I’m offering it here, it’s collected from a tank that has been “snail free” for as long as I can remember. My portion size won’t be huge, perhaps enough to fill a tablespoon when compressed, maybe more if I’m feeling generous, but really, you don’t need that much to get the ball rolling. I offer it here more as a convenience than anything else.
