Scindapsus pictus ‘Argyraeus’, Satin Pothos

There are a lot of different common names around this plant: Silver Philodendron, Satin Pothos, Silk Pothos…and there are at least two distinct cultivars in the general plant hobby. This variety, Scindapsus pictus ‘Argyraeus’ has beautiful deep green leaves with silver spots; each leaf can be 3-4″ in length (in our experience). Sold in a 2″ cup as a rooted cutting, we generally are looking for 3-4 leaves before it’s ready for sale.

General Care Information

A great vining plant that will creep, crawl, climb and ramble. Individual strands can reportedly reach lengths of 10 feet or more. Overall it’s extremely hardy and performs well in a variety of settings…just plant it in the substrate and be sure to train and trim where needed. Originating from Southeast Asia, it’s decidedly tropical and appreciates warmth and humidity. While somewhat moderately growing in our care, it’s also incredibly forgiving and seems to do well with even very low light levels, although higher light levels will be better.
