Neocaridina davidi “Red Cherry Shrimp”

Currently, we’re calling the Red Cherry Shrimp Neocaridina davidi, but we used to know it as Neocaridina heteropoda. Not that it really matters; Cherry Shrimps and their many ornamental cousins bear little resemblance to the wild shrimps they were derived from. There’s plenty of info out there for those who want it; these shrimps are great algae eaters in planted tanks, breed easily, and will rapidly expand in population provided fish aren’t eating the offspring! The Cherry Shrimps offered here are general shrimps supplied by the trade, which means no specific strain names or pedigrees, and the level of coloration will vary.
