This is a WYSIWYG listing – these are the exact fish you are purchasing.
This is a proven pairing between a misbarred “Black Ocellaris” of unknown provenance, and a “Wyoming White” Ocellaris. The pair produces a mixture of Mochavinci and classic 3-striped Mocha Clownfish. This is still a younger pair with smaller size fish that may grow and produce larger clutches in the future.
As with all proven pairs of fish, there’s no guarantee that they will resume spawning after shipping to a new destination; this is particularly a problem with clownfish pairs.
While the genetic hypothesis for Wyoming White states that it should always contribute a Davinci gene to its offspring, in practice, that may not have been the result; we don’t have hard numbers, but we had a sizeable quantity of standard, 3-barred offspring in the mix. Whether these could be carrying a hidden Davinci gene, or are otherwise so low in expression as to not be recognized, are questions we can’t answer. But this does raise questions about the entire genetics behind “Fancy White” and “Wyoming White” type clownfish.
